I think the oline coaching situation was a blessing in disguise. Felt like the oline was pretty good last season, but something seemed off. Coach Bain is young, energetic, and played FCS football. He knows how to talk to the guys and I think this will be one of the best oline rooms we have had
@backthepack I agree, I really like his playing & coaching experience.
I think getting gutted in the portal mid-spring ball hurt the Yotes a lot more than what we realized at the time. The coaching staff and Oline room did a great job of adjusting & making do with what we had, but losing Cotton, Henderson, and Larsen did not help at all. Three experienced starters who played a lot of snaps together is soooooo tough to replace. Especially in that short amount of time.
The Oline has to be a tight-knit group with great communication & chemistry. Like I said earlier, the Oline & coaching staff last year did a great job with what they had to work with, but losing three solid starters when we did, was not ideal. Losing those three to P4’s may have made it feel like “something was off”.
I’m excited for this season to watch them. No interruptions, just hard work this offseason!!!
