VERMILLION, S.D. — Two months away from the start of the 2026 South Dakota Coyote football season, the University of South Dakota has announced the six-home game promotional schedule at the DakotaDome.
Below is this season’s promotional schedule:

- October 10 – Southern Illinois

2026 HOME GAME SCHEDULE
(Aug. 29) vs. Central Connecticut State – 1 p.m.

I am hoping fans and students will show up and show out to the CCSU home opener in a similar fashion to the Northern State black out game a few years ago. That game was such a blast considering it was a non-con game.
When’s the first official practice? I saw UND release their fall camp schedule, but haven’t seen USD’s. Maybe I missed it during media day the other week?
I haven’t seen an official date yet – I know last year they started on July 30, which would correlate to next Wednesday. My educated guess is that it’ll be July 29, I would have listened to Media Days but we are the four month lull I don’t subscribe to MidcoSports Plus.
